IOWA ROOTS
Sam grew up just across the river from Dubuque in rural Jo Daviess County. He has spent his career protecting people in the courtroom. As a trial lawyer he’s won major criminal cases, unfair housing cases, and verdicts for people hurt through no fault of their own.
Sam knows that the best results come when people work together. Whether he’s making sure local landlords follow fair housing laws, fighting for environmental protections, or helping innocent Iowans clear their names, Sam has a proven record of success and is known as a collaborative problem solver.
He is running for House District 71 because he believes state government should be focused on making sure Iowans have a fair shot, not dictating culture. We need public servants who work together to solve the issues most pressing on Iowans today: affordability, access to housing, clean water, and leaving our children a future we can be proud of.
Sam received his law degree from the University of Kentucky and a bachelor’s degree from Buena Vista University. He lives in Dubuque with his wife, Sarah, and their sons, Jasper and Graham. He is excited to serve House District 71 and looks forward to earning your support!
